Description

What is fact? What is fiction?
In quantum computing…

At Tech Hub AarhusDay, Stig Elkjær Rasmussen, Senior Quantum Algorithm Scientist at Kvantify, explores the emerging field of quantum technologies and asks the simple, yetincredibly complex, question: What is fact and what is fiction in quantumcomputing?

Quantum computers areamong the most promising emerging technologies of our time. To many, they soundlike something out of science fiction, and numerous myths surround theircapabilities. In this talk,

Stig will demystifyquantum computing by explaining what a quantum computer truly is, and what it’snot. He will explore the fundamental principles behind quantum computing andwhy it is believed to outperform classical computers in certain tasks.

He will also providean overview of the current state of quantum computing and offer insights intowhen and how these machines might begin to make a real-world impact.

Stig has a PhD inquantum technology and machine learning from Aarhus University, where he isalso an external lecturer.

He now works as aSenior Quantum Algorithm Scientist at Kvantify, helping companies reap thebenefits of quantum computing.

He also conductsresearch on the theoretical aspects of emerging quantum technologies.

He’s driven by thepotential of quantum computing to solve some of the most complex challenges intechnology.

Expect a session explaining what quantum computers can do, what they can’t (yet), andhow they might redefinethe future of computation.
