Description

What is fact? What is fiction? In quantum computing…

At Tech Hub Aarhus Day, Stig Elkjær Rasmussen, Senior Quantum Algorithm Scientist at Kvantify, explores the emerging field of quantum technologies and asks the simple, yet incredibly complex, question: What is fact and what is fiction in quantum computing?

Quantum computers area mong the most promising emerging technologies of our time. To many, they sound like something out of science fiction, and numerous myths surround their capabilities. In this talk, Stig will demystify quantum computing by explaining what a quantum computer truly is, and what it’s not. He will explore the fundamental principles behind quantum computing and why it is believed to out perform classical computers in certain tasks.

He will also provide an overview of the current state of quantum computing and offer insights into when and how these machines might begin to make a real-world impact.

About the presenter

Stig has a PhD inquantum technology and machine learning from Aarhus University, where he is also an external lecturer.

He now works as aSenior Quantum Algorithm Scientist at Kvantify, helping companies reap thebenefits of quantum computing.

He also conducts research on the theoretical aspects of emerging quantum technologies.

He’s driven by the potential of quantum computing to solve some of the most complex challenges in technology.

Expect a session explaining what quantum computers can do, what they can’t (yet), and how they might redefine the future of computation.
